Free Events in Tallahassee

Whether you’re a newbie or a veteran, there are lots of free events in Tallahassee that you can take part in this year. We’ve put together some free weekly, monthly, and annual events going on in the Tallahassee community in 2024. You can go solo or bring your friends along to enjoy music, drinks, and food all around town. Keep reading to find out more!

Springtime Tallahassee Music Festival

April 5th, 2024

This community event is completely free for all guests. There will also be beverages and food for purchase, so be prepared to try some amazing flavors from local vendors. Don’t sleep on this annual event filled with live music, food, and great vibes! The Beer Garden opens at 5:30 PM and the opening act starts at 6 PM.

Jubilee in the Park

April 6th, 2024

If you’re into art and food, you should check out The Jubilee held annually in annual spring in downtown Tallahassee. Anyone can visit, so bring your friends with you! Along with a diverse array of arts and crafts booths, you’ll also experience live music and delicious food. The Jubilee will take place from 9 AM to 5 PM at the Downtown Chain of Parks.

Artisans in the Garden

This annual event at Tallahassee Nurseries features live music, fine arts and crafts for sale, and food trucks (including The Frother’s Daughter and The Cake Shop), all in a fresh outdoor setting. Dogs are also welcome to join the party (on a leash), with water bowls spread out during the event to ensure they stay hydrated. Whether you’re there for the music, the unique art, or simply an iced coffee, you’re sure to have a memorable time!

Celebrate America – July 4th Celebration

Tom Brown Park’s annual Fourth of July celebration is still going strong! If you’re planning on spending the summer in Tally, you can’t miss out on this vibrant event filled with live music, local food trucks, and of course, fireworks. Bring a blanket and watch the fireworks with your friends as you munch on a delicious treat!

Spooky Sips

Also held at Tallahassee Nurseries, this Halloween event is your chance to get dressed up and enjoy some wine slushies and food while taking in the spooky decorations. For every four-legged friend with a costume, you’ll be granted a free drink ticket, so don’t pass up this great deal if you have pets! 

Tallahassee Beer Festival

If you’re 21+, don’t sleep on Tallhassee’s annual beer fest! It’s considered the largest beer festival in North Florida. Tickets start at $25 but include access to two beer rooms, free water and sodas, beer and food for purchase, and entertainment. Don’t pass up this great deal featuring over 100 local breweries and over 300 fermentations!

Tallahassee Greek Food Festival

As the name suggests, the Greek Food Fest is ideal if you have a fondness for Greek cuisine. Tally locals love this annual event featuring traditional Greek food and music. Admission is free, so you’re welcome to drop by and try out all of your favorite Greek delicacies, including baklava, falafel, gyros, and much more. First Fridays at Railroad Square

Every first Friday of the month, Railroad Square hosts First Fridays. Head over to take part in a street festival filled with delicious food trucks, live music, and unbelievable art. The great thing about this event is that it happens every month, so if you miss it one month you can go the next. Bring your friends and vibe with the music at one of Tallahassee’s most popular art scenes.

Recess Weekly Events

Come Play Saturdays (ladies’ night) – Every Saturday, the first 100 ladies enter completely FREE! Drink specials are also available, so clear your schedules on Saturday nights from now on girlies. 

Jacked Up Tuesdays – Take advantage of Tuesday nights, there’s NO COVER until 11:30 PM for everyone! Pre-banding starts at 9 PM, doors open at 10 PM, and there are also many drink specials available, so don’t miss out. 

Tallahassee Downtown Market

Every Saturday, from March through November, between 10 AM and 2 PM, Downtown Tallahassee hosts a community farmers market in Ponce de Leon Park. There you’ll find fresh produce, art, and crafts, and other one-of-a-kind items for sale. It’s also a fun plan to just walk around and check out the area while it’s filled with music and people. 

FSU Market Wednesdays

If you’re new to Tallahassee or Florida State University, you should know that FSU holds a small student market every Wednesday from 11 AM – 2 PM. You can stroll around, talk to people from different clubs and associations, and shop around the vendors’ market where you’ll find all kinds of cool FSU apparel and other unique finds.
