Leasing Agent

Position Overview

Jackson Properties is a locally owned student housing company in Tallahassee, Florida. We are committed to providing exceptional housing and service to our residents while supporting them every step of the way.

As a Leasing Agent, you’ll serve as the main point of contact for our residents, from their first tour to their move out. This role is key to the success of our team and offers hands on experience in sales, leasing, and property management within the student housing market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to resident and prospect inquiries via phone, email, text, and in-person communication.
  • Manage incoming leads, follow up consistently, and work to lease all available properties.
  • Conduct property tours for prospective tenants, including occupied units.
  • Prepare, send, and manage leases for both new and renewing tenants.
  • Collect and process rent and utility payments; maintain accurate tenant account balances.
  • Handle tenant documents including applications, lease agreements, and related forms.
  • Utilize Rent Manager CRM daily to track leads, leases, payments, and resident information.
  • Assist with general office operations and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding tenant accounts and office operations.
  • Build positive relationships with tenants while providing excellent customer service.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a team.
  • Customer service experience and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Strong computer and phone skills; must be comfortable handling calls daily.
  • Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.
  • Reliable personal transportation (required for showings, events, etc.).
  • Availability to work Monday–Saturday, 10 AM – 5 PM (with flexibility for school schedules).
  • Must be available August 1–25 annually (peak leasing and move-in period).
  • Ability to work in person at the Jackson Properties office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous sales or customer service experience.
  • Conversational Spanish (a plus).
  • Studying in a related field such as business, real estate, or hospitality (preferred, not required).
